Before your tan:
First, it’s important that you properly prepare your skin to ensure a safe, even tan. You can feel confident going into your tanning session with these pre-tanning tips:
- • Shower, shave and exfoliate.
- • Moisturize your skin with a non-oil-based moisturizer.
- • Remove all makeup and jewelry.
- • Use a lip balm with UV protection.
- • Make sure you aren't taking any medications that increase UV sensitivity.
While our pre-tanning tips should prepare you for your tanning session, we understand that you might have questions if it’s your first time. Reach out to our professional tanning team today and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have.
During your tan:
When you arrive at Northern Tan, you’ll be guided into one of our private tanning rooms where you can get ready for your tan. After you’ve undressed, tanning lotion should be applied evenly using circular motions until all areas of your skin are covered. Once dry, throw on your protective goggles to shield your eyes from the UV rays and hop into the tanning bed.
After your tan:
We recommend a 24-hour resting period between sessions to allow your tan to fully develop. Use your favorite tan extender and moisturizing products after your tan to help keep your skin glowing and golden for as long as possible. Easily maintain your tan by tanning 1-3 times per week and continuing to use our tanning tips.
